Traffic conditions in Dalmatia

The bridge over Neretva at Opuzen is under renovation and the road is closed.
To go between Opuzen and Ploce you have to take a long detour over the bridge in Metkovic.
If you come from Split on the motorway DO NOT GO DOWN TO MAKARSKA. Continue inland and go through Vrgorac and Mali Prolog to Metkovic.
The road is expected to re-open by 1. June

A1 High Way from Zagreb to Split

Motorway extension to Vrgorac is expected to open in June. The last piece to Ploce (25 km) will be delayed 1-2 years due to the fact that it was decided to change it to a location where they can save some tunnels and bridges.

Section to Split now open (26.06.2005)
Next section to north of Makarska is open and one more section towards Ploce and Dubrovnik will open in 2008.

A four lane speedway from Trogir to Omis is agreed with the Croatian Roads company. The project includes three road sections - the 11.1 kilometre-long section from Kastel Sucurac to Plano near Trogir, 13.9 kilometre-long speedway from Stobrec to Dugi Rat near Omis, and a six kilometre-long ring road which is the most demanding construction job given that it includes a five kilometre-long tunnel and a bridge over the river of Cetina.

Now open: 230 km new motorway (A1) in Slovenia from Maribor to Koper.

Welcome to Komarna in South Dalmatia

Welcome to the WebBlog for visitors and friends of Komarna on the cost of South Dalmatia in Croatia.

Here I will post news and information that does not easily fit into our website
    www.komarna.com

There are now two new websites dedicated to Komarna and Apartment Tedo:
    A site in English language:
    www.komarna.co.uk
And a site in German language:
    www.komarna.de

I hope that our guests, present and future, will make use this media to tell about their experience with holiday accommodation and apartment rental and give others some advice about what sightseeing and activities are worth to do and - maybe - what is not worth to do.
